Action Against Hunger began operations in Nigeria in 2010 in response to the high rate of chronic malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, focusing on integrated programming. Action Against Hunger currently implements multi-sectoral humanitarian and development interventions in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, funded by AFD, EU/ECHO, French Government, GAC, GFFO, SIDA, US Government, and WAM Foundation.
Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF Nigeria) Ltd/Gte is currently recruiting a Senior Supply Chain Officer based in Sokoto. The position will oversee the coordinating of supplies to the base in line with ACF procedures.
Position Details
Reporting to: Logistics and Supply Chain Manager
Proposed start date: September 2026
Work location: Sokoto, Sokoto State
Key responsibilities:
Mission 1: Process supplies- Ensure procurement is processed according to the project's PPP;
- Handle supplies in accordance with the appropriate procedure;
- Handle orders in accordance with ACF procedures;
- Prepare the necessary documents related to the order: Supplier Purchase Order, Delivery Note, etc;
- Check the accuracy of the information on all documentation;
- Compile documentation to establish and obtain a complete procurement file;
- Ensure that all required validations are completed prior to procurement
- Maintain and develop a supplier database into LINK.
- Ensure that ACF policies (Gender and Safeguarding, etc.) are well understood by suppliers ;
- Participate in investigations in the event of a fraud alert or non-compliance with ACF policies by a supplier and propose corrective measures.
Mission 3: Organise the shipment of goods in the field
Mission 4: Manage the information flow
- Inform logistics and programmes of their supply progress;
- Keep LINK up to date with all relevant suppliers and market information;
- Ensure that all elements of procurement files are complete in LINK;
- Ensure that all procurement related documentation is carefully archived (Procurement Files, SRO, DN) electronically and physically in the archive room.
Mission 5: Tracking payments with the finance department
- Ensure that invoices contain the required information in accordance with ACF procedures;
- Update procurement files with corresponding invoices;
- Pay the advance of cash according to the procedures of the finance department;
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure proper follow-up of supplier payment.
Mission 6: Reporting
- Complete and maintain the Contract Monitoring;
- Provide cash flow forecasts twice a month.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Logistics, Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in supply chain/procurement
- Good knowledge of procurement, supply, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with the LINK procurement tool
- Experience supervising staff is an advantage
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Professional proficiency in English and knowledge of local language.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding and complex/insecure environment.
