Action Against Hunger began operations in Nigeria in 2010 in response to the high rate of chronic malnutrition in Northern Nigeria, focusing on integrated programming. Action Against Hunger currently implements multi-sectorial humanitarian and development interventions in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, funded by AFD, EU/ECHO, French Government, GAC, GFFO, SIDA, US Government, and WAM Foundation.
Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Supply Assistant who will Assist the Senior Supply Officer to ensure the proper functioning of supply activities
Position Details
Reporting to: Senior Supply Officer
Proposed start date: January, 2026
Work location: Maiduguri, Borno State
Key Responsibilities:
Mission 1: Assist the Senior Supply Officer with small procurements and delivery follow-up
- Make small procurements on behalf of the Supply Specialist;
- Enter logistics requests into LINK;
- Organise and monitor deliveries;
- Inspect deliveries: quantity, quality, documentation;
- Report any quality problems to the Senior Supply Officer;
- Keep the receiving and dispatch section of LINK up to date;
- Keep the documentation archive up to date.
Mission 2: Follow up on the payment of suppliers
- Check invoices;
- Transfer validated invoices to accounting for payment to suppliers;
- Organise appointments with suppliers for payments according to the cheque signing and cash office opening times of the finance department;
- Ensure that ACF policies (Gender and Safeguarding, etc.) are well understood by suppliers.
Mission 3: Manage the information flow
- Inform logistics and programs of their supply progress;
- Keep LINK up to date with all relevant suppliers and market information;
- Ensure that all elements of procurement files are complete in LINK;
- Ensure that all procurement related documentation is carefully archived (DNs, Invoices, contracts etc) electronically
- Ensure warehouse team is well informed of deliveries to receive
- Follow up on deliveries in the warehouse
Additional Responsibilities
- This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task.
- Maintenance of high technical standards.
- Conduct all duties in a professional manner following ACF Nigeria mission staff regulations, ACF mandate and charter including promotion of gender equality.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum Requirement: A BSc or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field
- Min 2 years’ experience in office administrative work;
- Some experience in Supply Chain;
- Good capacity to work in a team;
- Good Computer Skill, MS Word, MS Excel.
