Following the crises in Northeast Nigeria, we further expanded our operations to address the Nutrition, Health, Food security and livelihoods, WASH, and shelter needs of conflict-affected communities.
Action Against Hunger Nigeria programme is supported by FCDO, ECHO, GAC, BHA, SDC, UNICEF, EU, AFD, SIDA and GFFO.
Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Programme Manager who will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the RESILAC*2 project Component 1 and 3 activities of Action Against Hunger in Borno State; to ensure the two component activities including FSL, WASH, MHPSS, Health, and Education, are effectively integrated and delivered in line with project goals. The role involves managing the project including the project team, ensuring technical quality, compliance, and synergy across all interventions. Need also closely work with RESILAC*2 Nigeria Project Implementing Units(PIU) and the national Consortium Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of all RESILAC project components (FSL, WASH, Health, MHPSS, and Education) ensuring that project deliverables are achieved with high quality and in a timely manner;
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the development and implementation of project activities, including technical assessments, surveys, and interventions;
- Support the development of RESILAC programming in general, and resilience building programming, procurement plans and project work plans;
- Ensure the integration of resilience-building approaches across all project components, fostering collaboration among sector teams;
- Coordinate and mentor field officers and team members to meet project objectives in a multi-sectoral setting;
- Closely work with the base finance, logistics, MEAL, liaison and other department staff for proper coordination and synergy;
- Compile and review monthly technical reports to provide an overview of activities and contextual updates across all project sectors;
- Monitor project progress against output goals, expected results, and project indicators, ensuring compliance with internal and donor reporting standards;
- Ensure systematic monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes are in place, facilitating continuous improvement in project implementation;
- Oversee the preparation of technical program reports, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and submission deadlines;
- Review and harmonize partner reports, providing feedback and ensuring coherence with overall project objectives;
- Prepare and manage financial forecasts and BFUs, ensuring alignment with project plans and budget;
- Prepare monthly reports mainly PMT, and 5Ws of RESILAC and submit in a timely manner;
- Support in the development of job descriptions and recruitment of technical national personnel as needed;
- Lead the recruitment, capacity building, and coaching of project staff, ensuring that team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively;
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide individual coaching to address areas of improvement;
- Support the staff reporting to him/her;
- Ensure staff respect organizational and local set ups;
- Closely work with RESILAC*2 project implementing unit teams in Nigeria;
- Closely work with CSOs who have gotten RESILAC*2 ACF sub-grant(NEEM Foundation, REBHI and NADA). Make sure the CSOs got the necessary information on time and report as per the MOU they signed with ACF;
- Liaise and make sure the local authorities (state and LGA) and the community clearly understand the project deliverables;
- Make sure project stakeholders (community and local authorities) participation in the overall project cycle activities;
- Attend operational steering committee meetings and take assignments as deemed necessary;
- Closely works with the base other project coordinators/mangers to ensure coherence and harmony of project implementation;
- Support the RESILAC National Consortium Coordinator in working with other departments to ensure a common approach and synergy across all project components;
- Support in the response to FSL funding opportunities in collaboration with other coordination teams (i.e. nutrition, WASH, administration, human resources and logistics);
- Gather and analyse data related to the project sectors, providing insights for strategy development and decision-making;
- Undertake additional activities as requested by the RESILAC National Coordinator and other members of the coordination team.
- Bachelor’s Degree in FSL related studies e.g. General Agriculture, Economics, Development Studies, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Agronomy, Animal Husbandry or a related field, OR, A degree in any other aspect but with a Masters in Food security & livelihoods;
- At least 5 years work experience in multisector and integrated project management; in a project focused in two or more of the following themes: humanitarian response, recovery, resilience or development;
- Excellent team, budget and project management and representation competencies;
- Capacity to supervise and manage a team of diverse culture;
- Experience implementing programs funded by donor like EU among others;
- Possesses strong liaising skill;
- Good writing skill;
- Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
- Willing and able to be based and travel regularly within remote areas, where services are limited;
- Fluency in Hausa preferably.
