Action Against Hunger currently implements multi-sectorial humanitarian and development interventions in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, funded by AFD, EU/ECHO, French Government, GAC, GFFO, SIDA, US Government, and WAM Foundation.
Action Against Hunger is currently looking to fill the role of Project Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting Action Against Hunger programming in coordinating the implementation and ensuring the representation of the FIFSAN project in Yobe and Borno State Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with MEAL department for timely monitoring, evaluation and lesson learning activities;
- Monitor budget utilization of the project partners ensuring that all potential underspend/overspend are highlighted and addressed appropriately in the remaining period;
- Ensure timely coordination with all concerned Program Managers, Field Coordinators to ensure that activities are completed in line with the target and budget spend efficiently;
- Ensure project data management and reporting: ensuring development of a data collection and entry plan complete with tools and timeline that is integrated, ensuring quality production of respective reports;
- Alert and follow up with concerned Progam Managers and Field Coordinators to ensure that the target is achieved, procurement is completed and any pending activities completed in the remaining implementation period;
- Coordinate with Program Managers and Field Coordinators as well as Advocacy department for capturing success stories and human stories;
- Ensure the project is implemented to meet donor expectations in terms of timely and quality results and budget, including strategies for phase out and sustainability. Ensure coordination between program and operations leads. Ensure ACF program quality standards are adhered to per Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) policy and procedures;
- Ensure project monitoring the implementation of the project activities, its evaluation and its internal and external accountability - by putting in place the necessary mechanisms for project planning and management (meetings, tools, etc.);
- Feedback of information, bottlenecks and issues in the area of intervention are addressed timely;
- Timely consolidation, review and validation of internal (quantitative/narrative) and donor reports, as well as monthly narrative and QAPR;
- The consideration of cross-cutting themes, particularly gender, throughout the process of project implementation;
- Ensure the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation framework: monitoring of activities (collection, centralization, feedback and verification of data), measurement of results (baseline surveys) and impacts, iterative evaluations, etc.;
- More specifically, the implementation and budgetary monitoring of activities under its direct responsibility;
- The technical compliance of the project with the international technical rules, guidelines and standards defined jointly by the country office;
- Encourage the overall quality of project implementation in order to maximize impact;
- Actively promote meaningful community participation and consultation at all stages of the project cycle;
- Timely reporting any major difficulties encountered in implementing the recommendations and / or the necessary adaptation measures;
- Ensuring, with the support of relevant staff and partners, that functional and accessible complaints and response mechanisms are in place and that feedback and complaints are well received and addressed;
- Ensure compliance with FIFSAN rules and regulations, particularly with respect to financial and grant management;
- Ensure project staff received the necessary support for the effective implementation of the project;
- Participate in the recruitment and integration of project staff;
- Manage staff under direct supervision to create an enabling environment for the effective implementation of project activities;
- Ensure operational supervision of the project's senior staff and contribute to their evaluation and action plan - in consultation with the implementing organizations;
- Contribute to the overall design of a capacity building plan for the staff involved in the project in consultation with the implementing organizations;
- The efficient composition of the Human Resources of the project implementation unit.
- MA Degree in related humanitarian studies or Social Science;
- Level of completed higher education (Postgraduate or above) in Project Management Development (a priority), Advocacy or Humanitarian Studies, International Relations or Political Science;
- Professional experience of 5 years in coordinating humanitarian or development activities in a complex environment;
- Experience in coordinating a development project;
- Professional experience in supervision of technical teams and management and in a consortium will be given positive consideration;
- Fluent English speaker;
- Experience in Borno/Yobe State will be given positive.
