Action Against Hunger currently implements multi-sectoral humanitarian and development interventions in Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, funded by AFD, EU/ECHO, French Government, GAC, GFFO, SIDA, US Government, and WAM Foundation.

Action Against Hunger Nigeria (ACF Nigeria) Ltd/Gte is currently recruiting a Supply Officer based in Katsina.  The position will oversee the
purchasing, supplier relationships, payments, and inventory in line with ACF procedures. This includes processing procurement requests, obtaining quotations, managing orders and deliveries, maintaining procurement records, and updating supplier information in LINK. The role also ensures timely supplier payments, accurate stock management, monthly inventories, and proper shipment documentation.



Position Details

Reporting to: Logistics and Supply Chain Manager

Proposed start date: September 2026

Work location: Katsina, Katsina State


Key Responsibilities:

Manage orders & supplies

  • Process procurement according to ACF procedures (e.g. direct, tender process, etc);
  • Carry out requests for quotations;
  • Prepare the necessary documents for direct procurement and delivery;
  • Purchase ordered items in accordance with ACF logistics procedures;
  • Organise and monitor delivery;
  • Ensure proper receipt with the Stock Officer or requisitioners;
  • Solicit requisitioners prior to order and on delivery for all technical requests, to ensure conformity of ordered items;
  • Maintain information in LINK;
  • Prepare and maintain procurement records in accordance with ACF procedures (e.g. tender process).

Manage supplier data
  • Ensure constructive business relations with suppliers;
  • Prospect for / search for potential new suppliers;
  • Update the price list;
  • Update the supplier list on a monthly basis;
  • Updating the follow-up of contracts for each order (FO) under Framework Agreement.

Follow up on the payment of suppliers
  • Check and validate invoices in accordance with documentation, physical receipt and ACF procedures;
  • Make payments to suppliers for direct procurement after requesting an advance from the finance department;
  • Follow up the payment of suppliers with the finance department for larger expenses (transfer, cheque);
  • Ensure that ACF policies (Gender and Safeguarding, etc.) are well understood by suppliers.

Manage stock
  • Identify incoming and outgoing material and check quality and quantities;
  • Carry out a monthly inventory and complete an inventory report;
  • Maintain stock records;
  • Write up the various shipping documents.


Additional Responsibilities
  • This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task.
  • Maintenance of high technical standards.
  • Conduct all duties in a professional manner following ACF Nigeria mission staff regulations, ACF mandate and charter including promotion of gender equality.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Logistics, Business Administration, Purchasing & Supply, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in supply chain/procurement
  • Good knowledge of procurement, supply, and supply chain management.
  • Familiarity with the LINK procurement tool
  • Experience supervising staff is an advantage
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English and knowledge of local language.
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding and complex/insecure environment.
